Playing the English

Nikos has published his new book PLAYING THE ENGLISH. It is available here by Quality Chess, here by Forward Chess and here by Chess Tempo and here – as well as from all good bookshops! And of course, English Middlegame Strategies with Nikolaos Ntirlis can be found in our shop.

Jacob’s book A MATTER OF ENDGAME TECHNIQUE, partially based on the lecture series JACOB TEACHES RENIER THE ENDGAME, is nominated for the English Chess Federations Book of the Year competition. As Quality Chess has decided, together with the other main publishers, not to participate in any FIDE Book of the Year Award, this is probably the top award out there. We can never predict who will win when Matthew Sadler is not nominated…

Still time to join the four-day camp with GM Sam Shankland called AN INVESTIGATION OF CHESS STRATEGY. The first hour will be open to all members, while the remaining hours each day will only be available to those who have purchased it or received it through recently buying a yearly membership. You can buy the camp here and you can buy/renew your yearly membership here. All those who should have received the camp as a gift, can already find it in their account. If we missed someone, please let us know!

Killer Chess Training Open will take place 14-22 October in Copenhagen, Denmark. Minimum rating 2100 (wild cards to 2050+ for academy members available). Play and hang out with your coaches, Julen, Renier, Jacob and Sabino. The minimum Elo rating is 2100, but wild cards are available for members a bit shy of this. Read more here.

Also, a small correction. Viktor did manage to score his 2nd IM-norm in the tournament ending Sunday. Congratulations!

Jacob, Kallia, and Sam
