FOUNDATIONS OF POSITIONAL PLAY with GM Jacob Aagaard

The first will be a five-day camp from Monday, July 10th to Friday, July 14th with three hours of daily coaching. It will be aimed at u2100 players, but everyone who feels they need to work on the basics will be welcome.

The themes will be:

• Weaknesses
• Coordinating the pieces/piece play
• Prophylactic thinking
• The 3 Questions method
• Dynamics us. Static elements
• Which side of the board should you play on
• When to build up and when to act
• Guidelines for exchanges
• Where to go from here

Participants are invited to send one good and one difficult recent game to [email protected], latest by July 3rd, from where examples will be extracted.

The classes will take place daily from 17.00 to 21.30 London time, with half an hour break in the middle (Starting at 18:00 CET/BERLIN, 12:00 New York, 9:00 California).

Attendance fee
The attendance fee for the Positional Play camp is €297 and includes a monthly trial membership of Killer Chess Training worth €149.

All yearly members of the academy will participate in this camp for FREE, as a thank-you for your love and support!

AN INVESTIGATION OF CHESS STRATEGY by GM Sam Shankland

This camp will be held from 31st August to 3rd September.
2700 + grandmaster Shankland will explain the foundations of chess strategy over 4 sessions of three hours each. The level of the classes will aim high, but as always in chess, when explained well, most should understand everything, the rest of the key points, and a whole lot more.

The themes for the camp will be:

• The core properties of different pawn structures
– Open
– Half-open
– symmetrical
– closed
• The core properties of material imbalances
– Pawn sacrifices
– Pieces sacrifices
– Exchange sacrifices
– Knight & Bishop us rook & pawn
– Queen sacrifices
• Typical Changes to pawn structures
– Pawn breaks
– Pawn sacrifices for squares
– Pawn sacrifes for structure
– Opening of files

The course will run over 14 hours, starting each day at 17.00 London (18:00 Berlin, 12 :00 New York, 9:00 California) and finishing at 21:00, with one or two intervals.
