Strengthen your chess strategy with the “Core Elements of Chess Strategy”
camp with GM Ivan Sokolov

CORE ELEMENTS OF CHESS STRATEGY WITH GM IVAN SOKOLOV

This camp will be held 21st to 24th October.
GM Ivan Sokolov will aim to cover all the topics you need to improve your chess strategy.

The themes for the camp will be:

  • Core properties of different pawn structures
  • Core properties on material imbalances’
    1. N+B vs R+P(s)
    2. Q vs different pieces
    3. Other imbalances (Ps vs B or N or R)
    4. (Minor) sacrifices for a different purpose
  • Typical changes to pawn structures
    1. pawn breaks
    2. pawn sacrifice(s) for squares
    3. power of a passed pawn
  • Decision Making
    1. Changing the run of play (calculated risk)
    2. Accurately defending an inferior position (understanding defense mechanism trades that suits you or not…)
    3. Realizing the advantage

The camp will run over 4 days and 15 hours with some small breaks. The starting times are:

Saturday 21st Oct starting at 17:00 CET, for 4 hours.
Sunday 22nd Oct starting at 17:00 CET, for 4 hours.
Monday 23rd Oct starting at 18:00 CET, for 3.5 hours.
Tuesday 24th Oct starting at 18:00 CET, for 3.5 hours.

Attendance fee
The attendance fee for the Chess Strategy camp is €297, which includes a monthly trial membership of Killer Chess Training (value €149).
Price for existing members: €148.
As always, this camp is free for new yearly members and renewals. Please check your account that it has been acceded. Contact us if you cannot see it in your account by the 15th of October.

This camp pairs well with the summer camps we offered. For this reason, we will add it for free to the members’ accounts who attended the recent “Investigation of Chess Strategy” camp with GM Sam Shankland. Contact us if you cannot see it in your account by the 15th of October.
