Join us from 27-31 December on killerchesstraining.com for the already traditional Christmas camp! This year’s topic will be Converting the Advantage and your host – the newly appointed GM and long-time trainer Renier Castellanos.
One of the big struggles in chess is to win a winning position. If you feel that too many good positions have gone to waste or that you have said “I was winning in this game” one too many times, then this camp is for you! Mastering the skill of confidently converting winning positions into a full point is something every player should try to improve. Nevertheless, this is not an easy task and even Grandmasters occasionally face challenges in this area.
Through 15 hours of intensive training, students will train and develop the skills to confidently convert winning positions into victories using proven principles and practical techniques.
In this camp Renier will cover two main topics. In the first 4 days he will go over Mark Dvoretsky’s core principles. The final day is dedicated to handling unexpected advantages. Throughout the entire camp he will use examples and interactive exercises to illustrate the principles in real positions and test participants’ ability to apply conversion techniques.
The schedule of the camp will be the following:
27th December – Prevent Counterplay
28th December – Do Not Hurry
29th December – Create a Second Weakness
30th December – Strive for the Right Exchange
31st December – Handling Unexpected Advantages: Staying calm and precise after opponent’s mistakes
The goal of this camp is to help you:
Convert more winning positions in practice and competition.
Build confidence and composure in critical moments.
Strengthen foundational, positional and endgame skills.
