Dear Friends,
The camp with Swayams is over and the material from his sessions will be made available in the next day or two on Chesstempo. All yearly members who took part in the camp and have sent us their Chesstempo usernames will have access to it.
The holidays are approaching and, with them, our already traditional Christmas camp. This year, we bring you GM Ivan Sokolov. He will talk about 12 Paths from the Opening into the Middlegame. The dates are 27th to 30th of December.
The training will take time between 17.00 and 20.30 London time each day (9:00-12:30 California, 12:00-15:30 New York, 18:00-21:30 CET). There will be two 15-minute breaks. The camp will offer you a full 12 hours of training.
New yearly members and yearly renewals between the 7th of November and 27th of December will receive this camp for free, as a welcome gift. Everyone else who would like to participate needs to purchase the camp in our shop. If you are a member, remember to log in first to have the members’ discount applied to the camp!

Registration for in-person camp are open. The camp will take place in the 4* resort Zoraida Garden in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, between the 17th and the 24th of May. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Renier Castellanos and GM Julen Arizmendi. We will also have a special guest who will do a few extra activities with the camp participants. In 2025, we invited GM Ruslan Ponomariov. He gave a simul, a masterclass and shared with participants over dinner and blitz games. The camp is open to both members and non-members of the academy.
Check the archive section of our website to get an idea about how the camp unfolded last year. In the gallery section you can find some photos from the event.
Participants who will register and pay the camp fee before the 15th of February 2026 will receive a gift consisting of 6 books. Four of them will be available to choose from a list. The other two will be with free choice.
If you would like to join us, please fill in the registration form, here. More information is available on our website.
Sam Shankland and Karthik Venkataraman will play the 4th round of the FIDE World Cup. Both Karthik and Sam went to tie-breaks. Karthik was the first to advance, after winning the second rapid game against Bogdan Deac. Sam kept everyone on the edge of their seats after losing the 1st rapid game. He stroke back in the 2nd game and finally defeated Vidit in the 10+10 match.
