Due to a technical issue with Zoom, GM Akopian couldn’t have the class on Sunday, as scheduled. He had the class this morning instead and you can find the recording under this week’s Recent Recordings. His next class is scheduled for Sunday, at 1 AM UK time.
Unfortunately, GM Hillarp was feeling unwell this morning and asked us if we could cancel today’s class. We believe it is important that he rests and recovers, so he can be back next week.
Heat 5 of the Club Championship that was scheduled for last Saturday had only one participant. We are going to give it one more shot and will reschedule it for the end of March. Remember that Heat 6 is starting this Saturday, from 5 PM UK time. To participate, you need to be in this team. Then, you can join the tournament, here.
Starting next week, you will find a new course in our calendar. GM Boris Gelfand will start giving regular lessons in the academy. His first class of his “The Tortoise Method” course is scheduled for March 22nd, from 2 PM UK time.
A quick reminder about our upcoming event in Spain! We are offering discounts for groups of 3 or more people who want to attend the camp. If you have any friends who want to come to our camp, send us an email at [email protected] and ask for more details.
The camp will take place in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, from 3rd until 9th of May. It is open to absolutely everyone, members and non-members of the Killer Chess Training Academy. There is also no rating limit and anyone, regardless of their level can participate.
Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Julen Arizmendi and GM Renier Castellanos. Check out our website for all the details!
After the camp we will have an international open. You don’t have to be a member of the academy to participate and there is no rating limit. Round 1 is scheduled to begin on the 10th. The tournaments will have 9 rounds and it will be possible to get norms. Full regulations are available on our website.

Our member Dimitris Alexakis won the 5th Wood Green Invitational with 7.5/9 this weekend. He finished a full two points ahead of the field and made his second GM norm!
Kalyani Sirin and Kirthika are playing in the 3rd International “Women’s Chess Championship” Tournament “A” group.
Many members and coaches will play in the European Individual Championship that starts this Saturday in Eforie Nord, Romania. You can follow everyone here.
