The monthly Playing Position simul with GM Sabino Brunello is scheduled to take place this Saturday, the 15th of August, from 5 PM UK time. All participants will start from a given position that Sabino will have to defend. The actual starting position will be set-up a few minutes before the start of the simul. If you would like to play, you will need to join our Simuls team. Please do this well in advance and mention your name and membership email with your request. The link for the simul will be made available on Saturday on the academy’s website. It will also be sent via lichess message.
It was a thrilling weekend, as we watched Trisha fight for the Women’s British Championship title. She finished with 5.5 points, tied for first place with Bodhana Sivanandan, and went on to the play-offs. Unfortunately, she lost the second rapid game after an eventful battle. Tarun also played and finished 13th, gaining a few rating points in the process. Congratulations to both of them!
Tim played in the Seniors Over-50 British Championship and finished 34th, gaining 22 rating points along the way. Well done!
Shahil finished 3rd in the Leca Chess Open.
Stanislaw is currently playing in the Stare Mesto Open in the Czech Republic.
