Dear Friends,
On Saturday we will have the monthly Playing Position Simul held by GM Sabino Brunello. If you would like to take part in it, you need to apply for our Simuls team on lichess. Please mention your name and membership e-mail in your application. The link for the simul will be available on the academy website and sent through a private message on lichess.
Once again, we have prepared a month of intensive training this July. For a third year in a row, we are going to run the Summer Homework Club, where both monthly and yearly members will have the chance to do a new homework on weekdays, for four weeks. We will be using old friendly and killer homeworks. Once you solve them, you can submit your answers and Renier will mark them.
Monday will be for Killer Homework, Tuesday to Friday will be for Friendly Homeworks. The video with solutions will be uploaded on the following day. You will have one day to solve the friendly homeworks. New homeworks will be uploaded the night before, except for the Killer homeworks, which will be uploaded on Thursday nights. More details will follow soon on the Academy website.
During this time, the Friendly and Killer Homework Clubs will take a break. They will be back with the usual schedule in August.
GM Boris Gelfand will soon have an online camp on Killer Chess Training. The theme will be the Pawn Sacrifice for the Initiative and it will happen between the 25th and the 28th of June. Training will start every day at 5 PM UK time and will include three sessions of 50 minutes each. There will be two 10 minutes breaks between sessions. More details about the camp can be found here.
New and renewed yearly members between the 27th of March and the 25th of June will receive this camp for free, as a welcome gift. Everyone else who would like to take part in the camp will need to purchase the camp in our shop. The price for participating is €148 for existing members of Killer Chess Training and €297 for everyone else (includes a month’s complimentary membership of the academy).

Sam won the American Continental with an impressive 9.5/11, a point and a half ahead the rest of the field.
Aradhya had a very good performance and came very close to a GM norm again in Aktobe Open.
Arshiya is playing the World Youth Championship in Italy. You can follow her games here. Other young members of the academy are in Georgia, playing the FIDE World Cadets Cup. Good luck to everyone, we are rooting for all of you!
