One Month to Go: Spain Camp Updates

20 26.04. 2026

Dear Friends,

There is now less than a month remaining until our in-person camp in Spain. We currently have 27 confirmed participants and we are very much looking forward to meeting everyone.

We are still accepting registrations, so if any of you are considering joining, there is still time to secure your place—we would be delighted to have you with us!

The complete schedule of the camp is available on our website along with the current list of participants.

During the camp every student will have a 50 minutes one on one session with one of the trainers chosen at random. These lessons will take place between 9-11 in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon. The student should provide 3-5 recent games at least 1 week in advance (otherwise the lecturers cannot prepare well).

The camp will take place at the 4* resort Zoraida Garden in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, from May 17th to May 24th. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Renier Castellanos and GM Julen Arizmendi. We are also honored to welcome GM and former Women’s World Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk as our special guest. She will give a masterclass, a simul and play friendly blitz games with participants between the 18th and 20th of May.

2026 IN PERSON CAMP

For those traveling via Málaga Airport, we have arranged two shuttle transfers to the hotel on May 17th, departing at 15:00 and 21:30. The return shuttle to the airport will depart from the hotel on May 24th at 07:00. (Final timings may be subject to minor adjustments, which will be communicated in advance.)

On the 23rd of May there will be a FIDE rated rapid or blitz tournament with prizes. We will have all details very soon from the organisers.

More information about the camp is available on our website.

The European Championship in Katowice, Poland has recently concluded. Both Yahli and Sabino finished on a small rating plus.

Sabino will be back to present Killer Homework this Wednesday. Next week we will see him back in action, in the Italian Team Championship. While he is away, take a moment to check his post on the forum and vote on what you’d like to see next in the Killer Openings series!

We have also been informed of two closed IM norm tournaments in Serbia:

Eligibility requirements: FM/WFM title and a rating above 2100. If you are interested, please contact Petar at [email protected].

Have you been playing any tournaments? We want to know!  Let us know on the forum or on social media.
