The Killer Openings class with Sabino that was scheduled to happen today, from 8 PM UK time is cancelled. Unfortunately, Sabino suffered a shoulder injury and will need some time to rest and recover. He will also be unable to present the review class of the Killer Homework class this week. GM Tal Baron will replace him.
Karthik Venkataraman will share about his experience in the World Cup this Friday. Â If you want to learn about his prep for this tournament or have any questions for him, join his class, from 3:30 PM UK time.
The Christmas Camp will take place between the 27th and 30th of December. GM Ivan Sokolov will be the host and will talk about 12 Paths from the Opening into the Middlegame.
The training will take time between 17.00 and 20.30 London time each day (9:00-12:30 California, 12:00-15:30 New York, 18:00-21:30 CET). There will be two 15-minute breaks. The camp will offer you a full 12 hours of training.
New yearly members and yearly renewals between the 7th of November and 27th of December will receive this camp for free, as a welcome gift. Everyone else who would like to participate needs to purchase the camp in our shop. If you are a member, remember to log in first to have the members’ discount applied to the camp!

We are accepting registrations for the 2026 in-person camp. The camp will take place in the 4* resort Zoraida Garden in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, between the 17th and the 24th of May. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Renier Castellanos and GM Julen Arizmendi. We will also have a special guest who will do a few extra activities with the camp participants. The camp is open to both members and non-members of the academy.Â

Participants who will register and pay the camp fee before the 15th of February 2026 will receive a gift consisting of 6 books. Four of them will be available to choose from a list. The other two will be with free choice.

Maria Curca, aged only 12, secured 3rd place in the Open U14 section of the Minerva Trophy. We’re proud of her hard work, dedication, and excellent performance.
Speaking about young talents in our academy, Arshiya is preparing for a full December. She will play three National championships, after which she will go to Serbia, to take part in the GM Mix Open tournament.
The seniors will also start playing this week. Renier and Raluca will play in section A of the International Gran Hotel Bali Open, which starts on the 28th of November. Brendan Lyons will play in section B.
Julen will play the very strong Llobregat Open, which will also start on the 28th of November. Aradhya Garg and a few other members will also be there.
Sabino will hopefully recover well and have a good showing in the Italian Individual Championship. He will start playing this Thursday, the 27th of November.
