Andras has recently finished his course Structures and Strategies in the Ruy Lopez. The Chesstempo file is fully updated and available to all yearly members. Please remember that the course will be available for 3 more weeks on the website, after which it will be removed. We will be working on making it available in the shop.
A new course, From the Opening to the Endgame, has replaced it. It will take place on Wednesdays, from 1 AM UK time.
Swayams has finished the Queen endgames and will start looking at Rook endgames next as part of his Theoretical Endgames course.
This Saturday there will be a Playing Position simul with GM Sabino Brunello. The games will start from a given position that Sabino will defend. To take part in the simul, you have to be in this team. Mention your name and membership email when applying for the team, otherwise your request will not be approved. The link for the simul will be made available 10 minutes in advance on the academy website. It will also be sent through lichess private message to all team members.
This weekend, Europe will change time, so please make sure to double check the starting time of the classes in your time zone! Clocks will turn back by 1 hour on Sunday, the 26th of October.
We will have a new online camp with GM Swayams in November, on defense. The camp will happen between the 6th and the 9th of November and will include a total of 12 hours. The recordings of the camp will be made available to everyone who will buy the camp or receive it as a welcome gift.
New yearly members and renewals between the 25th of September and the 6th of November will receive this camp for free, as a welcome gift. Everyone else who wants to participate can purchase the camp in our shop. If you are a member, remember to log in to your account to get the camp at a discounted price!

We will have an in-person camp again in 2026. The dates are 17-24 of May, in the 4* resort Zoraida Garden in Roquetas de Mar, Spain. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Renier Castellanos and GM Julen Arizmendi. The camp will be open to both members and non-members of the academy. More information, as well the sign-up form will very soon be available on our website.
Members and coaches of the academy were in Batumi, for the European Team Chess Championship. In the Women’s section, our Manager, Raluca Sgircea, won the individual bronze medal on the 5th board.
Alexandra Kosteniuk won individual bronze on the 1st board.
Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko helped the Ukraine team win the silver medal.
In the Open section, Velimir Ivic won bronze with the Serbian team. Congratulations to everyone!
Andrey Terekhov played in the World Corporate chess championship with team Microsoft. He scored 10/11 on Board 3 in the qualification matches and helped his team to qualify for the world finals that will take place in Goa, India, in mid-November, during the World Cup. Sam Shankland is playing in the US Championship. He is currently on 3.5/7. You can follow his games here.
