Dear Friends,
Tiger’s Stonewall course is over. Anyone who wants to watch the class recordings can do so until the end of April, when it will be removed. Tiger will take a short break from the academy until he decides on his next course.
Advanced Calculation III is also over and the file is fully updated on Chesstempo. We will not remove this course; the recordings will remain available to watch for all members of the academy. Jacob will begin a new course on Sunday 6th of April on positional play.
The High-Level Practical Training class that was scheduled for Monday 31st of March has been moved to Tuesday, 1st of April, at the same time and will be presented by Renier.
More classes of The Tortoise Method with GM Boris Gelfand will be schedule very soon for April. The files from class will be made available on Chesstempo, as usual. They will not be updated lesson by lesson, as other courses, but only once a theme is completed (every 2-4 classes).
The Tactical Targets class this Saturday 5th of April has been moved from 10 AM UK time to 6 PM. It’s an exception only for this week, as Renier is travelling and unable to do the morning schedule.
The camp we are organising in Spain is getting better and better. While at the European Championship in Eforie Nord, Renier and Raluca were on a mission to persuade a former World Champion to join our event. Some of you might have already seen the news on our social media – GM Ruslan Ponomariov will join us in Roquetas de Mar! He will be there for two days, on the 7th and 8th of May. He has agreed to do a lecture and play blitz with the participants on the 7th. On the 8th, we will have a simultaneous exhibition.
If you’d like to join us, there’s still time! We are offering discounts for groups of 3 or more people who want to attend the camp. E-mail [email protected] to learn all the details. To register, you can fill in this form .

The camp will be followed by an international open. In memory of Jacob and Kallia’s dear friend Peter Long, we have renamed the tournament “PETER LONG MEMORIAL – 2Âş INTERNATIONAL KILLER CHESS TRAINING OPEN”.
Members and non-members of the academy are invited to play. There is also no rating limit. Round 1 is scheduled to begin on the 10th. The tournament will have 9 rounds and it will be possible to get norms. Full regulations are available on our website. You can see the provisional list of registered players here .
You can register for the camp, tournament or both by filling in this form.
If you have any questions, need info about travel of anything else, don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]
Many members and coaches of the academy met in the European Individual Championship in Eforie Nord, Romania. In round 10 they met up for a group photo before the start of the round. Renier, Raluca, Tarun and Trisha arrived early and were lucky to bump into David Llada in the hotel lobby. He took these great pictures in their lovely Killer Chess Training outfit:

A few minutes later, the rest of the crew joined them:

It was a long and tough tournament, with many ups and downs. Alvar had a sensational run and almost made it to the top 20. Unfortunately, he was stopped in the last round by GM Ediz Gurel of Turkey.
Jacob scored 2/2 in the Danish league this weekend with his team Hillerod. They won all their matches in the league and are the Danish champion 2024/2025!
