GM Ivan Sokolov returns to Killer Chess Training for a 4-day online camp in February. The theme will be “The psychology of the tempo”. He will go through the psychology and the practicality of playing positions with reversed colours, such as the Sicilian Dragon (the English), Reversed Benoni, King’s Indian Attack and other variations.
If you are a new yearly member, meaning that you have purchased a yearly membership or renewed after the Christmas camp in December, you will receive this camp for free. Raluca has already added the camp for those who fulfill this condition. If you haven’t received the notification or can’t see the camp reflected in your account, but you think you should receive it as a gift, please contact us as soon as possible, so we can look into it.

On Saturday, Sabino will give a Playing Position simul. If you want to participate, you have to first join our team on lichess, here. Please write your name and KCT membership email in the request, otherwise you will not be accepted! Right before the simul begins, the link to join it will be made available on the website. You will also receive the simul link through a lichess message.
Stanislaw suggested a friendly KCT blitz tournament and some of you liked the idea, so we have scheduled one for this Sunday, 26th. You need to be in this team to play it. Then, you can join the tournament here.
We hope to meet as many of you in person as well this year! In May, we are organising a camp followed by a tournament in Roquetas de Mar, Spain. The camp will start on the 3rd and end on the 9th. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Julen Arizmendi and GM Renier Castellanos. A detailed training schedule is available on the website, but we promise more than 30 hours of chess!
The 2nd Killer Chess Training Open will begin on the 10th. It will have 9 rounds and it will be possible to get norms. Full regulations will be published today on our website.

Arshiya is now almost 2100 after gaining 68 rating points in the GOA International Grand Master Open Chess Championship. She also won the Best Women prize. She drew GM Alexei Fedorov and defeated a few IMs on her way.
Tim played in the UK 4NCL Under 2000 tournament this weekend. He scored 4 out of 5 and finished 2nd!
Tim is an adult improver who has been diligently solving the homework and attending his favourite classes in the academy. We hope that his hard work will inspire everyone to put in the work and stay confident that it will pay off!
