Classes and Practical Activities this Week

Dear Friends,

The Olympiad is over and our schedule is getting full again. Sabino is back from playing for the Italian team and will begin a new repertoire today. We hope you will enjoy his suggestions after 1.e4 and you will get many pleasant games with it. Jacob is back from his trip as well and will give two Practical Training classes this week. Vladimir will also be back on Killer Chess Training from October.

We will soon have a camp with GM Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko. It will take place between 21st and 24th of October, from 5 to 8:30 PM UK. Mykhaylo will talk about the initiative and the critical moments in a game for seizing it. More details will follow soon on the website.

Lastly, we have Swayams, who will re-start his endgame lessons. He is fresh from winning the Olympic gold as coach of the women’s Indian team. Big congratulations to him and his team, it was a greatly deserved win!

Congratulations are in order for our friend and occasional coach Ivan Salgado as well. He obtained a historical 4th place with the women’s Spanish team, missing an Olympic team medal due to worse tie-breaks.

We know many of you have been playing as well. We have been following everyone and celebrating every victory.

More practical activities are coming up this week. Sabino will hold a Playing Position simul on Saturday 28th. Remember to join the team well in advance. You will need to mention your name and KCT membership e-mail in your application. We are close to knowing this year’s Club Championship finalists. There are only two more heats to go, this and the following Sunday.

A final reminder about chesstempo. If you are a yearly member, please send us a message telling us your username.

See you in class!
