May Camp on Opening Preparation
In the weekend April 30th – May 3rd, we will have a four day in-depth camp on Opening Preparation. The camp will include 4×1 hours free to all members and four sessions of 3 hours (with a small break in the middle) for sale. The head coach for the camp will be GM Sam Shankland. Final line-up will be announced later this week. For now we can say that we will have a guest appearance from the computer expert and highly respected author Nikos Ntirlis.
Club tournaments
Congratulations to Aradhya Garg on beating Renier Castellanos in the final of the Club Championship, in blitz play-off. Aradhya was 2019 Indian Junior Champion and clearly has improved a lot since.

Clash of the Ruy Lopez Zombies with a time control of 10+5 will take place Sunday at 9.30 am London.
Go to https://lichess.org/swiss/9yrVixde to enter. If you are not a member of our online club, go to https://lichess.org/team/killer-chess-training-blitzrapid-tournaments to sign up. We allow anyone to join our tournaments, as long as they behave. We need opposition!
Thank you to all who joined the long play tournaments. This is an experiment, which we hope will work out well. We will announce the groups at the end of the week. This means that you can still enter until the end of Friday by clicking here: https://forms.gle/h23grRTsTrC85Hu28
Playing Position Playout
We will have a Playing Position exercise on Saturday at 14.30 London. If you want to play READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
You have to join the team at https://lichess.org/team/killer-chess-training-simul. Remember to put your NAME and MEMBERSHIP EMAIL in the application, or it will be rejected. Entering means that you will participate on Saturday, not that you want to participate “sometime”. Do you enter unless you are planning to participate on Saturday, and Saturday only! Otherwise, you will get told off badly by the boss! Likewise, if you find you have to withdraw, just leave the team.
Once you have entered the team, you will still have to apply to join the simul, when it is made available around 14.20 on Saturday, to participate.
New Material
Jacob has posted the Visualization Exercise Sheet. It is available for download until the 23rd April.
Jacob has finally posted his reworked video on schematic thinking in the endgame.

Price increase
We are a young company, trying to find our place in a big market space. After much discussion, we have decided to increase our yearly subscription price to €749, effective immediately. There is a few points to be made regarding this:
- We will not increase the price again before after 31st May 2022
- There will be a chance to renew for existing members at our previous price of €599 at least until the end of July. Ask Kallia if you are interested in taking advantage of this
- Any newcomer who joins in April will get access to the May camp free of charge
That’s all!
Best wishes from your friends at the Killer Chess Training Academy,
Kallia, Jacob and Sam
